What is pearl pigment powder ?

Pearl pigments are non-toxic, heat-resistant, light-resistant, acid-resistant, non-combustible, non-flammable, non-conductive, non-migratory, and can meet the different needs of industries such as coatings, plastics, inks, leather, printing and dyeing, rubber, papermaking, cosmetics, etc., making the appearance of products in these industries more brilliant and shiny.

From cosmetics, cigarette boxes, wine packaging, gift packaging, to business cards, greeting cards, calendars, book covers, and even magazine printing and textile printing, pearl powder is everywhere, giving consumers a pleasing visual experience. Currently, the most widely produced and used pearl powder in the world is based on natural mica flakes (the size of mica ranges from 4μm to 120μm, with a thickness of about 0.5μm), which is coated with one or more layers of titanium or other metal oxides through special chemical processes.

What can pearl powder be used for?

Pearl pigments can be used in transparent and semi-transparent plastic resins, and using pearl pigments will bring a charming color and visual effect. Generally, the better the transparency of the resin, the more it can fully display the unique luster and color effects of pearl pigments. It is widely used in cosmetics containers, various packaging, toys, decorative materials, various films, and other plastic products.

Pearl pigments are made from natural mica, are heat-resistant, and do not contain toxins. They are fully compliant with international food and drug hygiene regulations (FDA), harmless to the human body, and do not harm the skin or eyes. With diverse colors and convenient color matching, they can be used to produce lipsticks, eyeshadows, foundations, eyeliners, eyebrow pencils, nail polish, hair sprays, moisturizers, and other cosmetics.

Pearl pigments have good dispersibility and physical and chemical properties, so they are widely used in the coatings industry. Regardless of the single color paint mixed with pearl pigments, it can become pearl paint, and its pearl and metallic luster effects leave a deep impression. Pearl paint has been applied in many fields such as automobiles, locomotives, daily necessities, and building materials.

Pearl pigments have a strong decorative effect and can be used alone or mixed with other colorants and added to various ink bodies. Then, through screen printing, gravure printing, or flexographic printing, pearl ink is produced, which can add elegant candlelight gloss and metallic effects to paper, cardboard, wallpaper, plastic, and textiles.
